- The deputy asked the Federal Antimonopoly Service to strengthen control over prices for Easter products

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) is being asked to strengthen price control over Easter products. Leonid Slutsky, the head of the LDPR faction, made such a request to the department.
"The Bright Resurrection of Christ is the oldest and most important Christian holiday for millions of Orthodox Russians. The availability of basic products for Easter celebrations should undoubtedly be ensured, including with the direct assistance of government authorities," the document says, which is available to Izvestia.
The document also notes that in recent years, during the holidays, there has been a sharp increase in prices from retail chains, which leads to financial difficulties for Russian citizens.
In this regard, the MP requests to control the situation with prices for products that are traditionally in demand before Easter, such as eggs, cottage cheese, butter, cakes and others.
Earlier, on April 11, it was reported that the average spending rate for Easter in the country is 2.5 thousand rubles. This is stated in the results of a study of the Orange loyalty service. The main item of expenditure for Russians is the purchase of ingredients: eggs, cottage cheese, dried fruits, sour cream. At the same time, 32% plan to spend up to 1,000 rubles on jewelry, and 36% are completely focused on the amount in the region of 500 rubles.
