- A member of the Ukrainian national battalion was sentenced to 12 years in prison in Rostov.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Vadim Tivonenko, a member of one of the nationalist battalions recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation, to 12 years in prison. This was announced on April 14 by the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Rostov region.
"Based on the materials of the FSB of Russia <...>, the shooter of one of the Ukrainian nationalist battalions was convicted (recognized as a terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation). The Southern District Military Court sentenced the defendant to 12 years in prison," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.
According to the FSB, Vadim Tivonenko voluntarily transferred to one of the nationalist battalions. After that, he began to take part in combat operations against members of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) in the area of the village of Ivanovskoye in the DPR.
Tivonenko was captured in August 2024, while he actively resisted using small arms. The militant's sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
Earlier, on April 12, investigators charged three Ukrainian soldiers who shelled the village of Olgovka in the Kursk region. The militants attacked residential buildings where civilians were staying, as a result of which at least four people were killed.
