For 15% of respondents, the May holidays are a time of working in the garden, preparing for the summer season. Some (12%) have decided to use their days off for additional earnings and plan to earn extra money. Taking care of health is a priority for 9% of Russians who will devote their holidays to this very thing. 8% of respondents will do household chores and have planned renovation work, while 7% of respondents chose cultural leisure, going to the cinema, theater, gallery or other event. Car rentals for the May holidays are becoming more and more in demand: according to Citydrive indicators for 2024, during this period, the number of trips via the app increased by 56% compared to the same period in 2023. The number of trips increased most significantly in Sochi — by 451%.
SberAuto experts reminded that when traveling to nature, it is important to take into account not only convenience, but also safety when choosing a parking place. It is not necessary to park the car on dry grass — this can lead to a fire. It is better to choose a hard and level surface, avoiding mud and puddles, where the car will easily get bogged down in the spring. It is mandatory to use the handbrake on the slopes, and it is better not to park under the trees at all — branches are likely to fall in the spring. It is also forbidden to block the driveways to the sites and natural areas.
"It is important to keep in mind the restrictions on natural areas. Entry by car is prohibited in nature reserves, nature reserves and on the lands of national parks. The same applies to water protection zones: it is forbidden to approach the sea closer than 500 m, to rivers — closer than 50-200 m," the experts added.
Earlier, on April 3, the OneTwoTrip travel planning service reported that 51% of single tourists will go abroad for the May holidays. At the same time, Istanbul turned out to be the most popular destination for travelers.
