Investigators have opened a criminal case against a resident of Dagestan, who is suspected of selling a newborn baby. This was announced on April 14 by the Republican Directorate of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.
"A criminal case has been opened against a 39-year-old resident of the republic. She is suspected of committing a crime under paragraph "h" of Part 2 of Article 127.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Purchase and sale committed against a person who is obviously helpless for the perpetrator"), - stated in the Telegram channel of the department.
According to investigators, upon discharge from the hospital on January 1, a local resident handed over a baby to a resident of Makhachkala for a reward of 300 thousand rubles. Now law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
Earlier, on April 11, a court in the Stavropol Territory sentenced seven local residents in the case of creating a criminal community, organizing the illegal stay of foreigners and human trafficking. The defendants, under the pretext of providing assistance in finding a job and providing housing, took away documents, and transferred people as labor to a livestock farm.
