The ministry noted that each cake must have a label with mandatory information about the name of the product and manufacturer, the legal and actual address of production, composition and nutritional value. Special attention should be paid to the presence of a Single Mark of treatment on the market (EAC) — it confirms the safety of products.
Experts emphasized that the expiration date can be indicated on the package, an additional sticker or a clip securing the package.
"Too light, but a voluminous cake may contain an excessive amount of baking powder and stabilizers. If the product is small in size but heavy, then this may indicate that the cake was not baked enough," the experts said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The organization's experts stressed that it is better to refuse to buy burnt cakes: they contain an increased amount of carcinogens and toxic acrylamide. Cracks on the top and crust of the product also indicate a violation of cooking technology.
Earlier that day, Ekaterina Kilipko, a nutritionist and gastroenterologist, warned in an interview with Moscow 24 that an abrupt change in diet when leaving a fast could provoke an exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.
