Tatarstan resident sentenced to 17 years in prison for terrorism propaganda

A court has sentenced a resident of the Republic of Tatarstan to 17 years in prison for promoting terrorism. This was announced on April 14 by the official representative of the Office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan, Alsu Khairutdinova.
"The sentence was imposed in the form of imprisonment for a period of 17 years with serving the first four years in prison, and the rest of the sentence in a special-regime penal colony," she said.
It was established that a native of the Kukmor district of the republic propagandized the ideology of terrorism, financed an internationally wanted militant of the international terrorist organization (ITO) and persuaded members of the terrorist association to travel to Syria to join the ITO.
The footage of the operational shooting, published by the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, shows the detention of the defendant.
On April 8, employees of the FSB directorate for the Chelyabinsk Region detained a resident of the region who was engaged in terrorist and extremist activities. The man spread calls on his social media pages for the commission of these types of crimes.
