Last year, more than 1 million tourists came to Russia. This was announced on April 14 by Yuri Barzykin, Vice-President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), Chairman of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Entrepreneurship in the field of tourism, at the Izvestia News center during a press conference "Tourist Season 2025: Russians' plans for the holidays."

According to him, 1 million 570 thousand tourists visited Russia in 2024. Most of the travelers come from Germany, China and Saudi Arabia. And the most popular destinations were Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi.

Earlier, on March 23, the Orange loyalty service conducted a survey about where Russians are going to leave for the May holidays. Izvestia has reviewed the results of the study. It turned out that in 2025, the cities of central Russia are leading among Russian destinations: Kazan, Veliky Novgorod, Vladimir, Yaroslavl and Kaliningrad. The traditional resort locations of Sochi, Kislovodsk, and Anapa are also popular. The North Caucasus has become the third most in demand among Russian residents.
