Turkey turned out to be the most popular tourist destination for the May holidays. This was announced by Director of the National Union of Travel Industry Professionals Vladimir Kaganer on April 14 at the Izvestia News Center during a press conference "Tourist Season 2025: Russians' plans for the holidays."
According to him, Turkey, Russia, Egypt, and Thailand are consistently among the top most popular destinations for the May holidays.
Kaganer noted that Turkey accounts for about 30% of the total volume of trips.
Earlier, on April 10, OneTwoTrip, a travel planning service, conducted a survey on which destinations were the most popular among tourists. The results were reviewed by Izvestia. Italy turned out to be the most popular tourist destination, with 31.4% of Russians surveyed planning to go there this year. France (19.5%), Spain (13.0%), Germany (5.4%) and Greece (4.9%) are also of interest.
