The majority of Russians will go to the south for the May holidays

The majority of Russian tourists will travel south during the May holidays. This was announced by Yuri Barzykin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), Chairman of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Entrepreneurship in the field of tourism, at the Izvestia News Center on April 14 during a press conference "Tourist Season 2025: Russians' plans for the holidays."

Krasnodar Region is the leader in the number of bookings — 20-33%. The Azov coast is also actively booked — there is an increase of 15%. In addition, the growth of the tourist flow to Crimea increased by 80% compared to last year.

Earlier, on April 12, Avito Rabota specialists named Izvestia the most profitable vacation schedule in May. Experts note that May is not the most profitable month for a long vacation: out of 31 calendar days, 13 are non—working days, and 18 are labor days. However, by taking only three days off from May 5 to May 7, you can extend the holiday weekend to 11 days. An alternative option is to take a vacation from April 28 to April 30, which will give you nine days of uninterrupted rest.
