AvtoVAZ announced increased robotization of production

AvtoVAZ has announced an increase in the level of robotics at the enterprise. New robotic welding systems are installed in the Lada Iskra welding workshop, which is ready for the start of industrial production. The main commissioning works here have been successfully completed, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on April 14.
The Lada Iskra welding workshop is a new production facility created as part of the project. Its area is more than 40 thousand square meters, and its productivity reaches 30 bodies per hour. 17 automatic lines and 112 robots are installed in the workshop; in total, more than 4,800 welding points are applied here. In total, the workshop employs more than 700 workers and engineers.
The new equipment is used both for welding and for rolling and rearranging parts. For this purpose, the design of the robots used provides for various lifting capacities: from 125 to 350 kg.
In total, more than 1.3 thousand robots are involved at AvtoVAZ. The company noted that this is the largest number among all Russian car factories. For example, the level of robotization on the Lada Granta body welding line exceeds 85%. The company also uses automatic outdoor vehicles, and the Scientific and Technical Center (STC) uses robotics in cyclic testing of car components and assemblies for reliability and durability.
On April 9, AvtoVAZ announced the complete restoration of technology in the former workshops of pilot industrial production (OPP) in Tolyatti. Previously, it began production of the VAZ-2123 SUV (which later became the Chevrolet Niva), and the assembly of Kalina and other models was being worked out.
On April 5, the 48th anniversary of the start of production of the first serial Niva, AvtoVAZ began selling the classic Lada Niva three-door SUV in a new Sport modification. The price of the new product starts from 1.7 million rubles.
