The expert warned about the possibility of an explosion of electric vehicles

If the basic operating rules are followed and proper equipment is used, the risk of an electric vehicle catching fire during charging is minimal. The main thing is to trust only trusted services and not skimp on security. Vladislav Mazov, CEO of the Artis charging station network, told Izvestia about this on April 15.
According to the expert, cases of electric vehicle fires are extremely rare and are most often associated with a malfunction of the car itself, rather than the charging infrastructure.
He explained that ignition can occur if non-original components are used for the electric car.
"In order to save money, the owners install non-original batteries and use cheap low-quality components. All this affects the safety of the car," Mazov warned.
He added that modern charging stations are equipped with a multi-level protection system. They constantly monitor charge parameters, including voltage, temperature, and resistance, and when anomalies are detected, they automatically interrupt the process. In addition, each station is regularly serviced and checked for compliance with safety standards.
The expert drew attention to the importance of using only certified components and timely battery diagnostics. He explained that lithium-ion batteries have a limited life, and overheating or damage can lead to a fire. Owners of electric cars are advised to avoid unofficial improvements and monitor the condition of the traction battery.
Earlier, on April 12, Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of car service Fit Service, told Izvestia how to choose a garage. According to him, there should be enough space in the garage for cars, as well as for storing necessary and related items, such as tires and tools. You should not buy garages that are too cramped, there should be about 2 m from the body of the car on all sides.
