Lada Granta sedan regained the title of the leader of the Russian car market


The Lada Granta model regained the first place in the ranking of new car sales in Russia. According to the results of the 15th week of 2025 (April 7-13), 1,178 such sedans were sold in the country, the analytical agency Autostat reported on April 14.
In second place was the Haval Jolion crossover with a score of 1005 units. Following the results of the 14th week, this Chinese crossover turned out to be the market leader, in 2025 this happened for the first time. The third place went to the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max (725 units), the top five were completed by the Lada Vesta sedan and wagon (720 units and 667 units).
The top ten best-selling models in Russia last week were supplemented by the Lada Niva Legend (644 units) and Niva Travel (632 units), Lada Granta liftbacks and station wagons (616 and 547 units, respectively), as well as the Geely Monjaro crossover (519 units).
In total, according to the results of the 15th week of this year, 19.4 thousand new passenger cars were sold in the Russian Federation. This is 20% less than a week earlier, and 33% lower than the result of a year ago.
On April 10, it was reported that in January – March 2025, 213 Chinese car dealerships were closed in Russia due to the loss of investors. This is more than in the whole of 2023 (187 car dealerships), and three times more than in the first quarter of last year (67 showrooms).
Before that, on April 7, it became known that the average price of a new car in the first quarter of 2025 was 2.96 million rubles. Compared to the same period last year, Moskvich (-14.7%) and Omoda (-4%) cars lost the most significantly in price among the brands.
