A woman in Zhytomyr threatened a 10-year-old girl to hand over her father to the staff of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) for speaking to him in Russian. This was reported on April 14 by the newspaper "Страна.иа ".

It is specified that the conflict arose in a minibus. The girl and her dad were communicating in Russian, which displeased one of the passengers. The woman yelled at the child, bringing her to tears.

"You can hear her indignant on the video," the publication's Telegram channel says.

In October 2024, Natalia Pipa, deputy and secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, submitted to the Parliament a bill that would ban only Russian language in all schools in Ukraine. It was noted that it is allowed to speak in any other language.

In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin on August 14 of the same year, stressed the need to curb the activities of the Ukrainian leadership to destroy the Russian language, education, media, culture, as well as the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
