The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation is investigating an attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on people who extinguished a house after shelling the village of Lebedevka in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, resulting in the death of people. This was announced on April 14 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.

An eyewitness shared that in February 2025, Ukrainian militants dropped an explosive device on civilians, including her father, who were extinguishing the house after the shelling. She clarified that her father and another man died immediately. Two people were injured, but one of them later died.

"According to these facts, a criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act")," Petrenko said.

According to her, during the preliminary investigation, representatives of the Ukrainian army who are involved in the crime will be identified and brought to justice.

On April 10, Petrenko announced the initiation of a criminal case against militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the killings of civilians in the village of Makhnovka, Kursk region. It has been established that nine civilians were killed as a result of the shelling of residential buildings in the village by Ukrainian militants.
