The Moscow City Court has sentenced Ukrainian nationalist Todor Panovsky to eight years in prison in absentia in the case of the attack on the Russian consulate in Odessa. This was reported to Izvestia in court on April 14.

It is clarified that in January 2019, about 50 neo-Nazis tried to hold a protest rally at the Russian Consulate General in Odessa, linking it with a meeting of the Lefortovo court, where the issue of extending the arrest of 24 Ukrainian sailors was being considered. The protesters lit smoke bombs, shouted anti-Russian slogans and threw cans of paint at the gates of the consulate. Two activists, including Panovsky, were detained by Ukrainian law enforcement officers after throwing cans of red paint into the building.
