KAMAZ has released the first K5 generation medium tank


KAMAZ has released the first anti-sanctions medium-tonnage truck of the K5 generation, designed for retailers, city and municipal services. This was announced on April 14 by the press service of the Naberezhnye Chelny auto giant.
The KamAZ-53251 will replace its predecessor of the K4 generation, the two-axle KamAZ-5325, introduced in 2017.
The truck is equipped with a 307 hp engine and a manual synchronized nine-speed transmission. The load capacity is 12 tons. Equipment for a refrigerator truck, tow truck, crane manipulator unit can be mounted on a long frame.
The features of the new product at the factory were called a comfortable cabin on a four-point suspension with air conditioning, cruise control and an on-board multimedia system with a 10-inch screen.
According to Roman Karpov, a technology engineer at the car assembly efficiency analysis department, despite the fact that the KamAZ-53251 consists of 80% original parts, the truck was assembled in the rhythm of the conveyor.
On April 10, it was reported that cargo unmanned vehicles will begin mass production at KAMAZ in 2028. The Naberezhnye Chelny auto giant has provided three unmanned vehicles for moving in the Moscow region — two MAYAK-1 trucks and a second-generation MAYAK-2 car.
On April 9, KAMAZ announced new models of K5 generation trucks with improved technical characteristics and consumer properties. They will be introduced in 2025.
