The track walls at the Akademicheskaya station of the Troitskaya metro line will be decorated with art panels related to science, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

According to him, portraits of prominent figures from different eras will be placed at the station. Among them are Lavrenty Blumentrost, Ivan Schumacher, Nikolai Semenov and Vladimir Vernadsky.

The station's design will be dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sobyanin stressed.

The new station will be located near the intersection of Dmitry Ulyanov and Trade Union streets. There will be two underground vestibules with exits on both sides of Dmitry Ulyanov Street.

The Akademicheskaya metro station, along with three more (Vavilovskaya, Krymskaya and ZIL), is scheduled to open this year. In 2024, seven stations of this branch began to receive passengers. The Troitskaya line will become one of the longest in the Moscow metro.
