By the end of 2025, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant plans to introduce updated UAZ Patriot and Pickup trucks with Russian units: diesel engine, gearbox and transfer case. This was stated by Nikolai Sobolev, CEO of the Sollers Group, TASS reported on April 14.

In the near future, it is planned to launch UAZ Profi light commercial vehicles with a local diesel engine and a six-speed gearbox, we are talking about a rear-wheel drive version, he said.

The Sollers SUV will receive a local power unit — engine and gearbox. The company also localizes the stamping of almost all body parts, exterior and interior parts, and security system components, Sobolev noted. The main technology partner for the SUV project is the Chinese company JAC.

"Our goal is to turn UAZ into one of the most modern production facilities in terms of technological solutions during 2025," said the CEO of the Sollers Group.

On April 10, it was reported that Russia had started accepting applications for Sollers SF1 midsize vans priced from 1.99 million rubles. Two versions are available to choose from — with a gross weight of 2,600 kg and 2,499 kg.

On April 2, it was announced that the Sollers Transmission Manufacturing plant had begun mass production of new manual transmissions for UAZ Profi and Sollers models. UAZ Profi semi-trailers with rear-axle drive and diesel engine will be put on the UAZ conveyor in April 2025.
