China intends to develop a partnership with Russia in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, Zhang Hanhui, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to the Russian Federation, announced on April 14.

"We will strive to overcome obstacles by establishing cooperation, build the future on the principles of inclusivity and jointly create a new chapter in the history of the community of the common destiny of mankind in the era of artificial intelligence," the diplomat quotes TASS.

He noted that China and Russia, being partners "in comprehensive strategic cooperation in a new era," agreed to strengthen dialogue and cooperation in the field of AI development, security and regulation. As Hanhui emphasized, the uncontrolled development of AI in the United States can lead humanity to disaster.

"Both countries oppose the monopolization of technology, the use of unilateral coercive measures aimed at curbing the development of AI in individual states, and the disruption of global supply chains in this area," the ambassador stressed.

Hanhui also noted that China has offered to cooperate in creating a global AI management system in order to develop common standards of use and ensure equal access to neural network capabilities for everyone. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Future Technologies Forum that it was necessary to create mechanisms for regulatory regulation of data arrays for the development of AI. He noted that artificial intelligence determines the development of all spheres and produces a real revolution, including in chemistry and materials science. At the same time, the time frame for the introduction of new AI materials should be reduced to 2-3 years in Russia.
