In Transbaikalia, a resident of the village of Onokhovo, Baleysky district, will be fined for setting fire to a field of grass. He did it after he heard the wolves howling.
According to the ChitaMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the regional police, the duty station received a message about a fire between the villages of Onokhovo and Verkh-Kukui. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire, which had already spread for several kilometers.
The police managed to identify the culprit. It turned out to be a 56-year-old local resident. According to him, he was returning home in the evening, and, passing through a field, allegedly heard a wolf howling. Then he decided to set fire to the grass. Now the man faces a fine of 10 to 20 thousand rubles.
Earlier it was reported that in the Trans-Baikal Territory, as of the morning of April 14, there are more than 30 forest fires. Seven were localized, 13 were eliminated.
