In the Kursk region, on the territory of the Glushkovsky district, volunteers of the Bars-Kursk detachment, together with the military police, discovered a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) weighing 200 kg. This was announced on April 14 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.
The drone crash site has been cordoned off, and sappers are expected to begin mine clearance work soon.
"This is a clear illustration of why we restrict entry to the territory of the border areas. <...> Due to its size, this UAV is capable of lifting up to 50 kg, flying at a speed of 150 km / h up to a thousand kilometers!" wrote Khinstein in his Telegram channel.
He added that sappers every day neutralize tens of thousands of ammunition, shells, mines, "bells" and other explosive objects in the border area. In particular, over the past weekend, 44.5 thousand were neutralized. GP.
On April 14, the Russian Defense Ministry also reported that over the past night, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 52 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). over six regions of the Russian Federation. Three drones were eliminated over the territories of the Kursk and Tula regions, two drones over the Kaluga region, and another UAV was destroyed over the Belgorod region.
The governor of the Tula Region, Dmitry Milyaev, also announced that Russian air defense systems had repelled an attack by Ukrainian drones over the region. According to him, there were no casualties or damage as a result of the incident.
