Traffic through the Upper Lars checkpoint was suspended due to the weather

Movement through a multi-vehicle checkpoint (MAPP) Upper Lars has been suspended for all types of transport due to bad weather conditions. This was announced on April 14 by the press service of the Federal Customs Service (FCS).

"Traffic is prohibited on the section of the city of Vladikavkaz — the settlement of Lars in the direction of departure from Russia due to the deterioration of weather conditions in Georgia and the inability to ensure safe passage of motor vehicles," the ministry said in a statement on the Telegram channel.

It is noted that the relevant decision was made taking into account the recommendations of the Georgian Border Police and will remain in effect until further notice. The ministry also clarified that the work of the checkpoint will be adjusted after the improvement of weather conditions.

On February 18, the Federal Customs Service reported that all types of transport through the Verkhny Lars checkpoint had been suspended in North Ossetia due to deteriorating weather conditions.
