- More than 100 thousand cultural events are being prepared for the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day

Russia is preparing 190 major events for the 80th anniversary of the USSR's victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova told Izvestia. And the total number of cultural events dedicated to this theme will exceed 100 thousand.
"According to various data, there are about 100 thousand cultural institutions in our country. So, there will be more events, because every small library has its own program, every largest theater also has its own events. We have 71 federal museums. The westernmost is the World Ocean Museum in Kaliningrad. On the other side is the unique Arsenyev Museum of the History of the Far East in Vladivostok. And everywhere has its own celebration plan," Lyubimova said.
According to her, all 89 regions of the country are preparing to celebrate the anniversary of the Victory, and a huge organizing committee coordinates the efforts, which involves dozens of federal agencies.
At the same time, the Minister emphasizes that in many cases museum projects are not only about the past, but also about the present.
"It is very important to us that in almost all regions these exhibitions are closely connected with projects about a special military operation. It is impossible to make an exhibition about the war and not pay attention to what is happening at this moment, what people in our country live. That is why very often the exhibition has parallels. It is not only about the Great Patriotic War, but also about what we are witnessing. And including our fellow citizens from Donbass and Novorossiya", - said the head of the Ministry of Culture.
