Politician Philippot criticized Macron for harsh statements against Russia

On April 13, French politician Florian Philippot called on his fellow citizens to "stop" President Emmanuel Macron, who said it was necessary to "impose" a cease-fire on Russia.
"To impose this by sending even more weapons, money and even French soldiers to Ukraine?! No, this is not working on a cease-fire, this is working on World War III! What have you been doing all the time since day 1!" he wrote on his Facebook page (ex. Twitter), referring to Macron.
The politician proposed to organize an official manifesto for peace on Sunday, April 27, in Paris, at the Palais Royal Square.
On April 10, the newspaper Le Figaro reported that the French military is making accurate maps of the area on the Romanian border with Ukraine and Moldova in case of a possible clash with Russia. As French Colonel Jerome explained to the publication, the purpose of the mission is to provide the allies with the necessary "updated data on the expected battlefield."
Prior to that, on March 24, the Tribune reported that in France, the number of reservists has increased sevenfold to 10,000 since the beginning of 2025. The newspaper recalled that President Emmanuel Macron urged citizens to think about protecting their homeland, calling Russia "the main threat to France and Europe."
