The UK has abolished import duties for 89 items of goods until 2027. This was announced on April 13 on the website of the government of the country.

"Working in partnership with industry, the government has decided to suspend import duties on a range of goods in order to reduce costs for enterprises," the statement said.

It clarifies that we are talking about products such as pasta, fruit juices, coconut oil, pine nuts, spices, as well as gardening supplies, plywood and plastic.

The duties will not be effective until July 2027, the British government noted.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on April 5 that he was ready to intervene to help protect the country's business from the consequences of US President Donald Trump's new tariff policy. He noted that he would do "everything necessary" to protect national interests.

On April 2, the American leader announced large-scale trade measures: base tariffs of 10% are introduced for all products supplied to the United States. For the European Union, this figure has been raised to 20%.
