Sobyanin announced an Arctic expedition for Moscow schoolchildren

The selection of schoolchildren and college students to participate in the Great Arctic Expedition has started in Moscow. According to the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, the expedition will take place in late July — early August and will last about two weeks.
In total, 14 students from grades 9-11 and college students will take part in the project. They will have to go to the extreme northern point of Eurasia — Cape Chelyuskin.
"Travelers will beautify the territory of the memorial cemetery of pilots and winterers," Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel. — They will be engaged in scientific volunteering — they will study Arctic mosses and lichens, flora and fauna of the Laptev Sea."
The participants of the squad will be teenagers who have successfully passed the selection process. The first test for candidates will be the Arctic dictation — applicants will have to answer 30 questions about the Far North. The second part of the selection will be organized in the form of an adventure game "Heroes of the Arctic". In addition, the students will have to test their tourist and expedition knowledge and skills.
The final test will be the training camps on the Bolshaya Valdai trail - participants will have to overcome a walking route with a length of about 60 km.
As the mayor of Moscow reminded, this year the Big Arctic Expedition will be held for the fifth time. This time the expedition will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
