Air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian F-16 aircraft

The Air Defense Forces shot down an F-16 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force. This was announced on April 13 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"An F-16 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, as well as 207 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems," the report said.

In addition, the ministry added that the air defense system destroyed seven US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and eight JDAM guided aerial bombs during the day.

The new weapons are machine guns or submachine guns mounted on special turrets.

The day before, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that a Ukrainian F-16 pilot was killed during a combat mission. It was noted that the place and cause of death of the pilot are not specified. According to them, the circumstances of the incident will be determined by an interdepartmental commission.
