Vandals in Odessa put a noose around the neck of the monument to Pushkin

Vandals threw a noose on the monument of poet Alexander Pushkin in Odessa. This was reported on April 13 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua," by posting a video of the incident on his Telegram channel.
"A noose was thrown over the Pushkin monument in Odessa and an advertisement was hung saying "I'm looking for a bulldozer," the message says.
It is noted that such an act of vandals caused indignation on the part of residents. However, in response to these actions, they were asked why some citizens do not speak Ukrainian. After that, an altercation began, during which one of the women called the poet's opponents "fascists."
Earlier, on January 17, it became known that the Odessa authorities decided to rename the tree named after Pushkin. According to the publication "Country.ua", the tree will be renamed "Western Sycamore".
In 2023, a bill aimed at de-russification was sent to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which should legitimize the fight against "hundreds of Pushkin street names" and reduce the influence of Russian narratives.
