On April 12, the Russian military told Izvestia about how they use nets to mask roads near the front line from drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

In everyday life, such nets are used to grow cucumbers, but military ingenuity has found a completely different use for agricultural equipment. The barrier is invisible from the air, so the drone gets stuck in it before it can cause damage.

A soldier with the call sign Golova said that so far there has not been a single case when a drone broke through the protective nets. Despite the enemy's attempts to find other ways to carry out an attack, the Russian military is finding ways to counter them, he added.

Sappers of the 38th separate engineer battalion find and neutralize ammunition dropped from enemy drones. The Ukrainian Armed Forces often use drones to mine roads.

"[This is] usually any homemade mine, either regular, modified, motion sensor, magnetic, that is, now any spectrum can be inserted. The problem is that it's already difficult to even approach it to detect it," said a sapper with the call sign Khmel.

Russian sappers monitor the condition of the networks, correcting old ones or installing new ones. They mostly work at night.

"Shelling can start at any moment, a drone can arrive at any moment, therefore, all this is done quickly," said Izvestia correspondent Stanislav Grigoriev, showing the process of building one of these networks.

On April 8, Russian servicemen of the 428th Motorized Rifle Regiment (SME) of the Center group of forces spoke about conducting training on combating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and the nuances during preparation for combat work.
