The calculation of the Merlin UAV revealed an accumulation of equipment and a control point for drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The calculation of the Merlin unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the motorized rifle unit of the 25th Combined arms army of the Zapad group of forces revealed an accumulation of camouflaged equipment and a drone control point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 13 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is clarified that during aerial reconnaissance, the Merlin UAV crew identified a cluster of camouflaged equipment and the take-off point of the enemy UAV and transmitted the coordinates to the control point, where it was decided to destroy it using artillery from the Western Group of Forces.

At the same time, the correction of fire and confirmation of the destruction of targets were also carried out by the calculation of the Merlin drones. So, this UAV operator has already identified more than 160 different targets.

According to the ministry, the aerial reconnaissance of the Zapad group of forces in the area of the special operation constantly records and transmits to the control points the coordinates of the location of military installations, command posts, strongholds, positions, dugouts, weapons and military equipment of the Ukrainian militants.

The Merlin reconnaissance UAV is capable of conducting reconnaissance in automatic and semi-automatic modes for 10 hours at an altitude of up to 5 km, as well as carrying various reconnaissance equipment. The main tasks are to assess the visibility of objects, detect and monitor structures and objects at any time of the day, regardless of weather conditions, under snow cover and behind camouflage nets.

"The reconnaissance-type UAV is designed for reconnaissance in the enemy's rear, at high altitude levels. It is used both day and night," said the head of the calculation with the call sign Fizruk.

On April 12, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the operators of FPV drones of the 72nd separate motorized rifle brigade of the South group of forces destroyed a Croatian-made RAK-SA-12 multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) and a bunker with enemy manpower.
