The second group of three Russians, who were released in Tunisia, flew to Domodedovo Airport. On April 12, they told Izvestia's correspondent about conditions in prisons and what they were suspected of.

"We were suspected of involvement in terrorism and espionage. <...> The most interesting thing is that all the documents are in Arabic, there is no translator. And they don't even tell you what they suspect you of. They scare me and say it's something scary. You'll find out later in a prison cell that you have an article about terrorism, for which they give you 50 years or more," one of the tourists emphasized.

According to their information, in Tunisia, if a person is suspected of something, they are sent to prison. And in the process, while law enforcement agencies figure out what happened, the person remains in the cell.

The men noted that they were in five different prisons. There was only one person in one cell. The Russians have not seen each other for five months. As a result, they were released due to the fact that the police had no evidence, but no one returned the equipment and money to them.

According to them, in prisons they had no opportunity to see their family, receive a transfer or make a phone call.

"The conditions of detention of a foreigner are worse than for an ordinary citizen. You don't know the language. You don't have the opportunity to communicate and keep in touch, you have to learn at a primitive level of gestures, a mixture of what you know in French, in English and learned in Arabic. You don't have the opportunity to date, your family doesn't know. It is forbidden to receive broadcasts," said one of the Russians who returned.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the first group of five Russians arrived at Sheremetyevo Airport.

On April 10, Tunisian radio station Mosaique FM, citing an informed source, said that an investigating judge in Tunisia had decided to release 11 Russian citizens who had previously been arrested on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities.

The detention of Russian tourists in the state was reported on December 17, 2024. Russian citizens were sent to Mornagia prison, which is known for harsh conditions and torture. On the same day, the diplomatic mission reported that the Russian Embassy in Tunisia had contacted the country's authorities regarding the detainees.

The bride of one of the tourists said on January 11 that Russian citizens are still in custody in the state without officially filed charges.
