Alexey Petrovich, head of the Coordinating Council of Russian compatriots of Moldova, as well as the Pobeda National Committee, was detained at the Chisinau airport. He announced this on April 12 in his Telegram channel.

"He was detained at the Chisinau International Airport," Petrovich wrote.

At the same time, according to the activist, nothing forbidden was found in his possession.

Later, the local channel "First in Moldova" reported that Petrovich was released after an inspection of his personal luggage and questions about the amount of money.

"I was given a paper on additional inspection of my personal baggage. Nothing illegal was found in the luggage. After that, I was released. There was no further explanation. The border guards asked about the amount of money, checked the backpack and bag, and then released them," Petrovich told the media.

On April 1, Bogdan Tsirdea, a deputy from the parliamentary Bloc of Communists and Socialists, announced that the Moldovan authorities had accelerated the conduct of criminal cases against representatives of the Party of Socialists in order to sentence them as soon as possible.
