Five of the 11 Russians previously detained in Tunisia have returned to Moscow.

Five of the 11 Russian citizens detained earlier in Tunisia arrived at Sheremetyevo Airport on April 12. The aircraft arrived from Istanbul.
"I wanted to say that it was very hard for us to be there. We had unbearable conditions. We were not allowed to eat properly. They didn't give us any money. It was very hard. We can say that we survived there," one of the Russians who arrived told RIA Novosti.
Upon arrival, one of the Russians told the agency that the conditions of their detention in prison were very harsh and they were treated as particularly dangerous criminals.
It is specified that the citizens of the Russian Federation were not upset, despite the fact that they returned to the capital in clothes out of season. Some of them were wearing only sweatshirts, some were wearing flip-flops.
On April 10, Tunisian radio station Mosaique FM, citing an informed source, said that an investigating judge in Tunisia had decided to release 11 Russian citizens who had previously been arrested on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities.
The detention of Russian tourists in the state was reported on December 17, 2024. Russian citizens were sent to Mornagia prison, which is known for harsh conditions and torture. On the same day, the diplomatic mission reported that the Russian Embassy in Tunisia had contacted the country's authorities regarding the detainees.
The bride of one of the tourists said on January 11 that Russian citizens are still in custody in the state without officially filed charges. On January 29, they were informed about the distribution of Russians in three prisons in the country.
