The media reported on the shelling of the Greek Coast Guard ship by Turkish smugglers

A Turkish ship with smugglers on board opened fire on a Greek Coast Guard boat off the island of Lesbos, located in the territorial waters of the European country, after about 25 migrants landed on Greek lands. This was announced on April 12 by the Star TV channel.
According to the newspaper, the smugglers fired heavy weapons, and several bullets pierced the keel of the Greek vessel, but this did not prevent the border guards from continuing to pursue the intruders.
The smugglers' boat, in turn, headed for Turkish territorial waters.
"The PLS vessel pursued the boat until it reached Turkish territorial waters, at the same time, the relevant Turkish authorities were notified and stopped the fishing vessel," the statement said.
None of the Greek sailors were injured.
In 2023, the media reported that the Raptor cargo ship, sailing under the flag of the Comoros and sunk near the Greek island of Lesbos, could have been transporting suspicious cargo to Ukraine. In addition, the rescued sailor who served on the sunken ship said that the final destination of the route was not Istanbul, but Ukraine.
