During his working trip to the Rostov region on Saturday, April 12, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev discussed with Acting Governor Yuri Slyusar the sowing campaign and the implementation of national projects in the field of ecology and food security.

"The Rostov region is one of the strongest agricultural regions in Russia, which is traditionally among the first to start spring field work. I ask you to ensure control over the pace of work and the availability of agricultural means of production. Especially machinery and mineral fertilizers. The agro-industrial complex plays a huge role in the region's economy. By the end of 2024, the Rostov region had the second largest grain harvest in the country and the third in sunflower," Patrushev said.

In addition, issues of the Rostov Region's participation in the events of the new national project "Technological Food Security" were raised during the meeting. Patrushev noted that more than 3.5 billion rubles have been allocated to support the agro-industrial complex and the development of rural areas in the region in 2025.

The results of the implementation of the national project "Ecology" were also summed up. Within its framework, almost 4.5 billion rubles have been allocated to the region over six years. It is noted that within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being" until 2030, federal funding will amount to about 8 billion rubles. Work will continue on creating a closed-loop economy, improving the condition of water bodies, preserving forests and other areas.

During his trip to the Rostov region, the Deputy Prime Minister also checked the progress of spring field work in one of the farms. The Deputy Prime Minister inspected the work on the winter field and sunflower sowing. The farm specializes in the production and sale of agricultural crops. It is emphasized that the farm widely uses seeds of domestic breeding.

On March 12, Patrushev announced that the government had provided more than 530 billion rubles for financing the agricultural industry and rural development in 2025. He added that since this year, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture has started implementing the national project "Technological food security".
