Bakanov stated the priority of cooperation with investors for Roscosmos

Cooperation with private investors is a priority for Roscosmos. This was announced on April 12 at a solemn event in honor of Cosmonautics Day by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the state corporation.

"Cooperation with private investors is a future priority for us. Commercial companies in Russia should also become partners of the state in space, remove part of the costs from the state budget, and improve work efficiency," he said.

According to Bakanov, the Russian side must maintain and ensure technological leadership in space, in particular, this applies to areas in rocket engineering, satellite engineering, as well as engine building and manned space exploration. However, these measures cannot be implemented without a number of structural changes and modernization.

The head of the state corporation added that in order to improve the organization, a certain strategy is needed that will be effective for the needs of the country, its economy and security.

Bakanov also said that the national space project is currently in the final stage of development. It will include the improvement of domestic rockets and spacecraft, and the creation of a new Russian space station.

Earlier in the day, Bakanov said that Roscosmos and the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) had agreed to synchronize the completion dates of work on the International Space Station (ISS). The head of Roscosmos also said he would meet with new NASA administrator Jared Isaacman to discuss cooperation.
