An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was recorded in Pakistan. This was announced on April 12 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The center was located at a depth of 35 km, the epicenter was located 26 km east-southeast of the city of Torder with a population of 150,000 people and 19 km northeast of the city of Attock with a population of about 85.4 thousand inhabitants. The earthquake was recorded at 7:30 UTC (10:30 Moscow time).
No possible casualties or damage were reported.
Earlier that day, it became known that an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred off the coast of Papua New Guinea. No tsunami threat has been announced.
