Moscow enterprises are involved in the production of important and unique products for space exploration, from electronic components to launch vehicles. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, expressing his conviction that this trend will continue.

In his Telegram channel, the mayor congratulated workers and veterans of this field of activity on Cosmonautics Day. According to Sobyanin, the Russian rocket and space industry faces new large-scale challenges, and the Moscow industry plays a "huge role" in solving them.

The mayor of the capital also called the first human spaceflight "one of the greatest events in world history." "Yuri Gagarin made the dream of millions of people on the planet to travel to the stars come true, and this was the result of the breakthrough work of outstanding Russian scientists, designers and engineers," Sobyanin stressed.

He thanked the industry's employees for their "high professionalism, enthusiasm and great contribution to preserving and strengthening Russia's position as a space power."

Earlier, it was reported on the website of the Mayor of Moscow that events dedicated to Cosmonautics Day would be held at the Moskino Film Park on April 12 and 13. The program includes performances by professional stuntmen, space stunts, performances, children's games, film screenings and much more. In particular, on April 12, the Gonzaga Theater will show the family play "The Furious Cosmists." The production will introduce the audience to the discoveries of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Nikolai Fedorov and Alexander Chizhevsky, as well as tell about the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
