A criminal case was opened in Irkutsk on the fact of a teenager's attack on a policeman.

A criminal case on the use of violence against a representative of the authorities was opened against a 17-year-old teenager after he hit a policeman several times in Irkutsk. This was announced on April 12 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Irkutsk region.

"The Investigative Department for the Kirovsky district of Irkutsk of the SU IC of Russia for the Irkutsk region has opened a criminal case against a 17-year—old teenager suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," a statement on the agency's website said.

It is specified that the incident occurred on the morning of April 10 on Timiryazev Street, where a fight broke out between young people. A police officer who happened to be nearby intervened in the situation and tried to end the conflict, in response to which one of the participants in the brawl struck him several times.

After that, a law enforcement officer detained the teenager and took him to the police department for further proceedings. Currently, investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

On April 7, the Investigative Committee of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District reported that in Novy Urengoy, a schoolboy stabbed a security guard at an educational institution with a folding knife when he was trying to stop a minor's conflict with another student. It was clarified that the victim was taken to the hospital with a cut wound on his cheek. Two criminal cases have been opened into the incident.
