The entry and exit of Russian citizens to the territory of Ecuador takes place in a stable mode, the transit of Russians is carried out in accordance with the current legislation of the country. This was announced on April 11 by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador.

"Russian citizens can enter, leave, transit and stay in Ecuador without a visa for up to 90 days during each 180-day cycle," the press service said in a statement posted on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

It is specified that the travel of citizens of the Russian Federation is carried out in accordance with the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Ecuador and the Government of the Russian Federation on the conditions for the cancellation of visa formalities for mutual trips of citizens of the Republic of Ecuador and citizens of the Russian Federation" dated September 24, 2010. The press service's statement also notes that the Foreign Ministry confirms its obligations under the agreements concluded with the Russian Federation.

On April 10, the Russian Embassy in Ecuador appealed to the country's Foreign Ministry with a request to lift the bans on Russians entering the territory of the republic. According to diplomats, nine such cases are currently known. Russian blogger and traveler Alexander Morozov, who traveled to 86 countries during his round-the-world trip, told Izvestia that due to the decision of the Ecuadorian authorities, he could not get to the South American country.
