Helicopters of the Russian Air Force hit camouflaged armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk border area

A strike group of the Army aviation of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) eliminated armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) disguised in a wooded area of the border area of the Kursk region. This was announced on April 12 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry clarified that the group included the Ka-52M Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopter, the Mi-28NM Night Hunter attack helicopter and the Mi-8 multipurpose helicopter.

During the combat mission, the crews struck with S-8 aircraft missiles at the specified coordinates, and then, using the on-board defense system, carried out an anti-missile maneuver. After completing the mission, the crews returned safely to the departure airfield, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

On April 11, the Ministry of Defense announced the destruction by the crew of a multifunctional supersonic fighter-bomber Su-34 of the Russian Aerospace Forces of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control center and a drone launch site in the Kursk border region. It was clarified that the destruction of targets was confirmed by an advanced aviation gunner.
