The head of the European Union (EU) diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, admitted that the past negotiations of the countries of the "coalition of the willing" on Ukraine ended in failure. This was reported on April 11 by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

According to the publication, the head of the European diplomacy responded negatively to a question from journalists about whether the discussions had affected the "stalled" plans of the coalition. Kallas also noted the disagreements of the member countries of the association regarding further actions in Ukraine.

However, the newspaper drew attention to the fact that the statements of the head of EU diplomacy were actually refuted by British Defense Minister John Healey, according to whom the development of coalition plans is progressing well.

On April 10, Kallas said that the EU and NATO countries, in the format of a "coalition of the willing," were studying the need to send troops to Ukraine for a "monitoring mission." She noted that the discussion on this issue is ongoing and a number of countries are ready to participate in it.

On the same day, The Daily Telegraph reported that Britain was considering the possibility of deploying troops in Ukraine for a period of five years, which, as specified, was being discussed by London and other partners in the "coalition of the willing."
