Cosmonauts from the ISS congratulated Russians on Cosmonautics Day

The Russian crew of the International Space Station (ISS), consisting of Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexei Ovchinin, Ivan Wagner and Kirill Peskov, congratulated Russian citizens on Cosmonautics Day on April 12.
"Dear compatriots, we, the cosmonauts of Roscosmos: Alexey Ovchinin, Ivan Wagner and Kirill Peskov, wholeheartedly congratulate you on Cosmonautics Day. In our country, space has always been more than a profession," Ovchinin said.
Wagner, in turn, noted that after Yuri Gagarin's flight into space, millions of children began to dream of becoming astronauts. He drew attention to the fact that such a trend has persisted in Russia even now.
"Today we continue the work of our great predecessors and express our gratitude to all employees of the rocket and space industry for their hard work. Today, from orbit, we wish you well-being and joy from new victories in space. Happy Cosmonautics Day, friends," Peskov said.
In Russia and around the world, on April 12, the greatest achievement of science of the 20th century is celebrated by celebrating Cosmonautics Day. On this day, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin went into space on the Vostok satellite spacecraft. The flight lasted 108 minutes, during which the ship made a free flight around the planet and successfully landed at the designated location — near the village of Smelovka in the Saratov region.
