- Seven residents of Stavropol were given from 8 to 15 years in prison for human trafficking

A court in the Stavropol Territory has sentenced seven local residents in the case of creating a criminal community, organizing the illegal stay of foreigners and human trafficking. This was announced on April 11 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
It was established that in 2019, a 72-year-old man created a criminal community consisting of four organized groups operating in the Izobilnensky, Trunovsky, Shpakovsky districts and the city of Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Territory.
"The defendants were looking for people who found themselves in a difficult life situation, and under the pretext of providing assistance in finding a job and providing housing, they took away their identity documents. Subsequently, people were transferred as labor to a livestock farm in the Shpakov district," the Telegram channel said.
According to the investigation, from June 2019 to May 2023, the defendants transferred 10 people, including two foreign nationals, to work on the farm for a monetary reward. Thus, they concluded purchase and sale transactions, organizing the illegal stay of these people on the territory of Russia.
"Taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, the court sentenced the defendants to imprisonment for terms from 8 years 3 months to 15 years 6 months, to be served in correctional colonies of general and strict regimes with restriction of liberty for a period from 1 year 1 month to 1 year 8 months," the press service concluded.
On February 8, it was reported that other defendants may appear in the criminal case of Yulia Loginova, a mother of many children, on child trafficking, in which 19 people were brought to justice. It is noted that the investigators have already conducted confrontations between the new defendants and an underage girl who is being investigated as a witness.
Loginova was detained in October 2023 after receiving information from the hospital about the detection of a prohibited drug in the blood of one of the children she was raising. After conducting a genetic examination and checking the registration of children, during which it became clear that the Login had provided forged documents, a criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Article 127.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Trafficking in persons committed against minors who are obviously helpless for the perpetrator, using forged documents").
