Olga Khoroshavtseva won gold at the European Wrestling Championships

Russian Olga Khoroshavtseva won the gold medal of the European Wrestling Championship in the weight up to 57 kg on April 11. In the final bout of the championship, she defeated the Turkish athlete Elvira Suleiman Kamaloglu with a score of 6:4.

For Khoroshavtseva, this European Championship gold was the third in her career — in 2020 she won in the up to 55 kg category, and in 2021 — in the up to 53 kg weight.

On the same day, another Russian, Natalia Malysheva, took bronze in the category up to 52 kg. In the battle for third place, she defeated Ukrainian Lilia Malanchuk with a score of 11:0.

The tournament in Bratislava will last until April 13. Athletes from Russia compete in it under the flag of the United World of Wrestling.

The day before, Anastasia Sidelnikova and Ekaterina Verbina won the gold medals at the European Championships. Sidelnikova defeated Turkish athlete Bediha Gun in the weight category up to 59 kg, and Verbina, in turn, defeated French representative Tatiana Debien in the weight category up to 55 kg.
