The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the territory of the Kursk region robbed residential buildings and intimidated the civilian population with weapons. On April 11, local residents Ekaterina and Lyubov shared this with Izvestia.

"There have always been guns. With a walkie-talkie, then something else was put on. And they went with machine guns. They were walking around with machine guns all the time. <...> They were taking everything out of Plekhovo. Everything is literal. That's what they could get their hands on, they took everything out," Ekaterina said.

According to her, Ukrainian servicemen were transporting refrigerators, washing machines and televisions on car trailers..

The residents also recalled how the Ukrainian Armed Forces threw grenades into residential buildings and carried out shelling, as well as holding civilians hostage in basements. In addition, the militants invaded apartments and, under threat of murder, asked for alcohol.

"Well, and then he looked at me: 'Beast, give me the vodka, otherwise I'll shoot you now.' <...> Well, then we had two bottles of half each. I bent over this vodka, I think, take a sip, just don't touch us. And he just shot over my head," Lyubov added.

Earlier, on March 21, residents of the liberated town of Sudzha in the Kursk region told details about life under the occupation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. So, a local resident showed the basement in which she hid during the shelling of enemy drones. In addition to benches and flashlights, the woman stocked up with a sledgehammer to punch her way out when the entrance walls of the basement collapsed.
