The Russian Federation has transferred 270 tons of wheat to Tajikistan as food aid. This was announced on April 11 by the press service of the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe.

"On April 8, employees of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the solemn ceremony of handing over 270 tons of fortified wheat flour to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan as part of the school nutrition program of the United Nations World Food Program," the embassy's Telegram channel says.

It will be clarified that over the next four years, the Russian Federation intends to continue providing similar humanitarian assistance to Tajikistan.

"Food supplies will continue, and we are pleased to note that the implementation of the program is effective and stable, and we are achieving good results," said Vera Khutorskaya, Minister Counselor at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during talks with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon on March 17, expressed hope that the Tajik people would support the course of good-neighborly relations with Moscow. Rahmon, in turn, stressed that relations between Moscow and Dushanbe are of the nature of a strategic partnership and are developing exclusively on an increasing basis.
