The area of forest fires in Transbaikalia exceeded 28 thousand hectares

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, 20 forest fires with a total area of more than 28 thousand hectares continue to operate. Such data for the evening of April 11 is provided by the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.

Fires are active on the territory of the forest fund in Mogochinsky, Sretensky, Tungokochensky, Chita districts, Shilkinsky and Chernyshevsky districts. The Ministry of Natural Resources reports the localization of four foci on an area of 2.38 thousand hectares and the elimination of 12 fires on an area of more than 6.7 thousand hectares.

The situation in Chernyshevsky district, as well as in Tungokochensk and Chita districts, remains difficult. There is no direct threat to human settlements, the department says, but there is an indirect threat to the villages of Shishkino, Mukhor-Kondui and Verkhchita, the village of Lesnoy Gorodok in the Chita district and the villages of Uldurga, Usugli, Verh-Usugli in Tungokochenskoye.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, one of the largest fires is operating in the Chita district. The area covered by the fire was 13.5 thousand hectares, of which 10 thousand hectares were forest fires, 3.5 thousand hectares were non—forest fires. The forces for extinguishing the fire continue to increase.

At the same time, according to the forecast of the Transbaikalia Hydrometeorological Center, the wind is expected to increase to 20-22 m/s in the region in the coming days.

Since April 7, a regional emergency regime has been in effect in connection with wildfires in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
