Witkoff and Dmitriev visited St. Isaac's Cathedral

US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), visited St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg on April 11. The footage appeared at the disposal of Izvestia.

Shortly before that, Witkoff met with the chief Rabbi of St. Petersburg, Menachem Mendl Pevsner, and the chairman of the Jewish community of the city, Mark Grubarg. At the Great Choral Synagogue in Peteburg, Trump's special envoy was also presented with matzo and kosher wine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced Witkoff's arrival in Russia this morning. Later, Witkoff's motorcade appeared at the Grand Europe Hotel in St. Petersburg.

On the same day, Peskov announced a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Witkoff.

The Russian leader's last meeting with Witkoff took place on the evening of March 13. On the CBS News channel on March 16, the special envoy of the American president said that at the talks in Moscow, the parties had made great progress in discussing the conflict in Ukraine.
