European countries have not taken the necessary steps to ensure Ukraine's security. This was stated on April 11 by the head of diplomacy of the European Union (EU), Kaya Kallas, quoted by the British newspaper The Guardian.

"No," Kallas replied when asked by reporters if there was any clarity about specific guarantees for Ukraine's security.

The head of EU diplomacy stressed that the EU countries do not have a clear plan on how to end the conflict without putting pressure on Russia. According to her, different Member States have different opinions, and discussions are still ongoing.

Earlier, on April 9, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that European countries were "inspired" by Russia. The Russian Foreign Minister also recalled that all the world's tragedies began with aggressive actions on the part of the Europeans.

A day earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States was holding talks with the Russian and Ukrainian sides, moving closer to the goal of resolving the conflict. According to him, the discussions are progressing with positive results.
